Helms Bakery is an 11-acre historic art deco retail revival project in Culver City, with a high number of architects in residence. Go Green Solar Solutions was chosen as the solar partner for the project because of our commitment to providing the best-looking and best-performing systems in the business. Because of the property’s energy improvements and green initiatives, they now have a three-year waiting list for office rental space, and the project has been an essential part of the revitalization of Culver City. Helms Bakery qualified as a historic building, and as such was entitled to an extra 10% Federal Tax Credit when solar was installed. Rebates and tax incentives reduced the cost of the system by an astonishing 96% and brought the return on investment down to just a little over two years.

43kW – Sawtooth Standing Seam Roof
Savings per month – $1,300

The owner of Dink’s restaurant wanted it to be the first solar-powered restaurant in Palm Springs. He chose Go Green Solar Solutions for the job after he saw our detailed CAD drawings and was impressed by a thorough on-site walk-through with one of our solar designers. Go Green Solar Solutions completed the project in 90 days, adapting our work schedule to deal with the summer heat. Work started at 4:30 in the morning and stopped when it became too hot to work on the roof. The unusual roof shape was an installation challenge, but the finished product definitely makes a strong statement. It just proves again that we can adapt our custom-designed solar electrical systems to just about any situation. If you have a strange roof situation, go ahead and give Go Green Solar Solutions a call. We love a challenge.

Harley-Davidson Commercial Solar Power

Los Angeles, CA
145kW – Commercial Solar Power System
Savings per month:  $2,100

When Laidlaw’s Harley-Davidson, the largest Harley-Davidson dealership west of the Rockies, built their current home, they took that opportunity to “green” their business.  Solar panels cover most of the roof, saving over $25,000 in electrical costs each year.  The solar inverters are monitored weekly, and the solar power panels are cleaned quarterly to maximize their efficiency.  GGSS used a non-penetrating system to mount the panels on the roof, which provided the greatest flexibility in design.  Rebates and tax incentives paid for over 78% of the project, and the owners will save over $1.5 million over the next 30 years.

This beautiful brand-new medical office building had an innovative roofing design, and GGSS did extra design work to maximize the area of the solar electrical system on the triangular sections of the roof.  The panels were installed over cool roof foam on Robertson roofing.  But the numbers are the real story.  Rebates and tax incentives offset the cost of the system by an incredible 73%, bringing the return on investment to just 5 years.  The system will save the owners over $2 million dollars over the next 30 years.

San Clemente Assisted Living Solar Power

San Clemente Villas, a beautiful assisted living facility, had an ambitious plan to save money and go green.  They decided to install not one, not two, but three solar electrical systems.  One was installed on the rooftop, one on a solar carport, and one on a steep hillside.  Go Green Solar Solutions was chosen for the projects because of their long PV history and their reputation with San Clemente Building & Safety for making difficult installations go smoothly.  The hillside system posed the biggest challenge because of the unstable, shifting soil, but GGSS’s years of experience turned the unusable hillside into a solar power plant.  San Clemente Villas now boasts the largest PV system on an assisted living facility in the United States.  With rebates and tax incentives paying for 87% of the project, the solar electrical system will pay for itself in 4 years, and save the owners over $16 million dollars over the next 30 years.  The hillside solar electrical system, visible to thousands of commuters on the 5 freeway, is a powerful illustration of the benefits of solar energy.
